LYDIA, Tralles. Augustus. 27 BC-AD 14. Æ 24mm (11.37 g, 12h). Menandros, son of Parrhasios, magistrate. Bare head of Augustus right / KAIS A RE WN, MENANDROU/PARRASIOU in two lines in exergue, octastyle temple façade; in pediment, eagle standing right; Nikes on acroteria, winged caduceus in right field. RPC I 2633.3 (this coin); Imhoof-Blumer, Lydische 23; SNG München -; cf. SNG von Aulock 3278 (Vedius Pollio); BMC -; SNG Copenhagen 687 corr. (caduceus bound with taenia). VF, olive and black patina. Extremely rare.
